What is Dr. Pen™ Microneedling?
In our youth, our skin itself naturally produces collagen and elastin in sufficient quantities, maintaining smoothness, elasticity and silkiness. However, with age, these processes slow down, and it is difficult to spur them on from the outside, because even the most expensive serum cannot penetrate into the deep layers of the skin. Its molecules are too big!
What does a derma pen do? Microneedles penetrate the top layer of the skin, creating micro-channels, thanks to which the cells in its depth receive the healing substances they need (hyaluronic acid, EGF and others). At the same time, the device inflicts microtraumas on the skin, which force the body to mobilize its strength, and starts the self-healing process, returning the face to its former freshness.

FAQs
Can you get too much microneedling?
Microneedling too often can create more inflammation and pigmentation, and the skin will take even longer to heal. Stick to the instructions that come with your microneedling pen to avoid causing damage.
What serum is best for microneedling?
Hyaluronic acid serums Hyaluronic acid serums are the best and most commonly used type for microneedling because of their hydrating properties. Other great alternatives include peptides, ceramides, and EGF. Just make sure to avoid retinoids, Vitamin C, and other serums that contain acids (AHA, BHA, and lactic acid).
Is purging normal after microneedling?
This includes procedures that exfoliate the skin, peels, Morpheus RF Microneedling and lasers. Even introducing new skin care products with different ingredients such as retinoids or acids can cause skin to pimple. The technical term is purging and it is a perfectly normal reaction.
How deep should you microneedle your face?
approximately 1.5mm to 2.0mm Fine lines and scaring may be treated with a medium needle depth (approximately 1.0 mm). Deep acne scarring, surgical and deeper scars, wrinkles, pore size and skin texture can be treated with the deepest needle depth (approximately 1.5mm to 2.0mm).
